Bournemouth University asked us to create a large mural in the heart of their campus. The brief was to create an eye-catching and intriguing piece that inspired students and highlighted some of the key success stories the Uni had been involved in over the last few years. We went one further and included Zapp codes which added a digital dimension that allowed students to use their smart phones to find out more and access the full story behind each image. The montage of stories included: ground breaking research into face-recognition; students involvement in the special effects for the multi-Oscar winning film Gravity; a journalistic website that looks at the aftermath of the Nepalese earthquake; and the development of a new material that coats slipways – saving the RNLI thousands every year in maintenance costs. We’re looking forward to refreshing the mural with new stories soon.
