We are very proud of the Upside Gallery. It’s a self-initiated Paintshop project, supported by Arts Council England, that completely transformed a neglected space in the heart of Bournemouth’s Central Gardens into a free for all outdoor public art gallery. The gallery is a permanent display of work from 11 of the UK’s most exciting and progressive artists from the graffiti and urban art scene, each using a 10M tall concrete support as their canvas. Each mural has been fitted with a QR enabled plaque that can be scanned with a smartphone to access short interviews from the artist and production footage of the murals taking shape. We believe that art & design can transform an environment, changing the energy, atmosphere and how people use and see a space and since its completion the Upside Gallery has become a destination with visitors from all walks of life including, school art trips, photography shoots, bike clubs, fire dancers and more.
